Could the Warriors Have Eliminated Minnesota If Curry Stayed Healthy?
The 2025 NBA Playoffs brought plenty of drama, but one question kept lingering for Warriors fans:
What if Steph Curry didn’t get hurt?
With Jimmy Butler and Buddy Hield joining the squad, Golden State looked like they had one more serious run in them. But when Curry went down with that hamstring injury, their rhythm fell apart—and so did their playoff hopes.
Before the injury, the Warriors had the #1 offensive rating in the league with Curry on the court.
Without him?
They dropped to dead last—30th. That’s not a small dip, that’s a nosedive.
This wasn’t a rebuilding roster either.
You had Jimmy Butler, a seasoned playoff killer
Buddy Hield, one of the league’s best spot-up shooters
Draymond still anchoring the defense
And young energy from Kuminga and Podziemski
The tools were there. But the engine—Curry—was missing.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves had their best season in years.
Anthony Edwards exploded, Gobert owned the paint, and their team defense looked elite.
But here’s the truth:
They never had to face a fully operational Warriors squad.
If Curry stayed healthy:
Gobert would’ve been dragged out of the paint by pick-and-roll
Butler would’ve had more isolation chances
Hield would’ve had better spacing
And Draymond becomes twice as deadly with Curry running around off-ball
Would the Warriors have won the series? Maybe.
But it wouldn’t have ended in 5.
With Steph healthy, this series likely goes 6 or even 7.
And in a Game 7?
Do you really bet against Stephen Curry?
What do you think?
