Thunder Crush Nuggets in Game 7: SGA vs Jokic – Who Was the Real MVP?
This series wasn’t just about reaching the Western Conference Finals —
it also felt like an unofficial "Who’s the real MVP?" battle between Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic.
But we can't ignore the team factor either.
Jokic got almost no help from his supporting cast in Game 7.
And with Aaron Gordon out due to injury, Denver lacked both defensive presence and offensive spacing.
The Thunder absolutely dominated Game 7 from start to finish and they looked like the more complete, more prepared team.
When it comes to who the real MVP is
Jokic has the résumé, the accolades, and the respect.
But in this series, and especially in Game 7, it was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who looked like the true MVP.
He dominated without forcing, made every possession count, and led his team with confidence and control.
Maybe the trophy says one thing...
But the court said something else entirely.
